Another ILYM missed

Every year I resolve to make it to ILYM. Every year I fail.

It's not far - maybe two hours. It's out in the country between Peoria and the road to Chicago. There's no direct route - you either go toward Chicago, then veer off, or you go down to Peoria, then come back up. It would be easily less than two if you could just go straight there. But bridges are out, etc. - it's a little wild up there north of Peoria.

The route isn't the problem. The problem is that I can't get away. My younger kids have much less idea of what Quakerism is than my older ones did - I haven't had time to educate them. ILYM would help. We really need a wider community.

So, I'm kicking myself. How can I see this coming better, make time, and actually do it? I say I will but summer flies by. Again.
